Life’s embers nearly vanquished.
Yet still unseeing, outwards drew her arms
Fingers spread, marking an all consuming hunger.
The patter of rain rung and echoed,
desperate eyes sought out an effigy
moving black in a dark city
lost between roars and towers.
In she drew them,
to capture lost memories and breath.
Harder came the rain,
a window grew darker
for inwards she drew.
